A wonderful base in Callas

The villa is just as described and possibly more impressive than the photos. A great base for you to explore the coast and also inland. Jean-Paul and Myriam are wonderful hosts, very responsive to messages and provide lots of information and recommendations. Callas is a small but charming village. We had an amazing time!

Outside area was fantastic, lovely pool, gorgeous views, we all had a lovely time relaxing enjoying the pool and surrounding historic villages. Callas is lovely and everyone was very fiendly.

Wonderful owners make property event more special

We had intended to visit this property last summer, but had to change plans at the last minute (literally) due to UK Covid travel Policy unexpectedly changing. Thankfully Jean Paul and Myriam were very understanding and allowed us to change the booking. 12 months later and we were delighted that we finally had the chance to visit. Jean Paul and Myriam were very welcoming and were responsive to any requests throughout our stay. The property itself lives up to the high ratings. Wonderful location. So easy to walk into the village! The view across to the village is beautiful. The pool is a great size and we were grateful for the roofed poolside table area which remains under shade all day. This gave us relief from the sun which shone continuously throughout our stay and helps keep the pool at a lovely temperature. The house itself is very clean with all you need to cook with all appliances in excellent working order. Sleeping arrangements were perfect for the 4 of us (Mum, Dad and two adult children). The local area offers some fantastic days out (boating near the Gorges de Verdon, St Tropez via the ferry at Ste Maxime, beautiful hill top villages (Tourtours was our favourite as it has a lively square and wonderful views across the local area) and beaches within an hours drive (we were advised to arrive and leave the beach early which was a great tip!). All in all a fantastic 2 weeks. The best part though was the opportunity to meet Jean Paul and Myriam. Wonderful people who really do make this place special!

Great property in a beautiful location

We stayed in the property for one week during July. The property itself has character and charm. Clean and tidy with everything needed. The property has air conditioning, but even without it turned on, it remained cool for a lot of the day. The highlight is definitely the outside space. The property sits in a wonderful location overlooking the pretty village. There are multiple outside seating places, meaning you can always find shade or sun. The swimming pool is a really good size, and has wonderful views over the village and surrounding countryside. We enjoyed spending our afternoons sat by the pool reading, swimming, and enjoying the views and tranquility. The owners were helpful and responded quickly to our communication. The owners live next door and welcomed us to the property, as well as making time to come and see us at the end to ask how we had go on. Callas a a good base for exploring this corner of Provence. Lots of pretty, historic villages are nearby, the coast and major towns (Grasse, Aix, Nice, St Tropez) are all within striking distance, and so is the fantastic Verdon Gorge and it’s lakes (Lac St Croix and Lac d’Esparron).

Ein wunderschönes Haus mit Traumblick

Wir hatten mit unserer Familie (Eltern und Kinder von 12, 14 und 19 Jahren) zwei wunderschöne Wochen in Callas, im Haute Var. Sehr schöner malerischer Ort, ab vom Trubel an den Stränden, die dennoch für Tagesausflüge gut erreichbar sind. Im Ort, der in 10 Minuten fußläufig zu erreichen ist, bekommt man im kleinen Lebensmittelladen und in der sehr guten Bäckerei alles für den täglichen Bedarf. Das Haus ist sehr schön und liebevoll provenzalisch eingerichtet. Es ist in jeder Hinsicht gut ausgestattet, sehr sauber. Die Terrasse und der große Garten ermöglichen von vielen Standpunkten aus den traumhaften Blick auf Callas-wunderschön! Der Pool ist sehr schön, hat eine gute Größe zum Schwimmen und auch Spielen mit der ganzen Familie. Wir haben es sehr genossen! Großes Grundstück mit Stellplatz auch für ein großes Auto. Ganz besonders hervorheben möchten auch wir die Gastfreundschaft von Jean-Paul und Myriam, die uns sehr, sehr freundlich empfangen und uns über die Umgebung und die Geschichte des Hauses erzählt haben. Sie standen immer für Informationen zur Verfügung, halfen uns mit Tipps für Ausflüge und Fahrtrouten sowie Kartenmaterial weiter, blieben aber ansonsten sehr zurückhaltend. Nous venons de passer 2 très belles semaines de vacances dans la maison louée par Jean-Paul et Myriam. La maison est très agréable, la piscine est grande et la vue est superbe. Les propriétaires sont très accueillants et nous ont très bien conseillés concernant les excursions à faire dans les environs. Nous recommandons sans hésiter cette location.

Excellent séjour

Nous avons passé 2 semaines reposantes dans cette maison très agréable et très bien entretenue. L'équipement est parfait, conforme à la description détaillée et aux nombreuses photos. Les extérieurs (terrasses ombragées ou non selon l'heure, grande piscine privée) sont magnifiques, avec en effet une vue splendide sur le village et les environs. Jean-Paul et Myriam sont très accueillants et nous font partager leur connaissance de la région. Nous reviendrons avec plaisir.

Exceeded all our expectations

We spend 3 weeks at this wonderful property close to Callas in the Var department, part of Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region. Based on the communication with the owners in front of our stay, the expectations we had were quite high but they have been even exceeded. The setting of the house, where the owners lived for a long time themselves before, the pool area, the floor plan with two separate bedrooms having their own bathroom on the first floor, all was just perfect for us. From the first moment on we truly felt that Jean-Paul and Myriam took every effort to make our stay an unforgettable one. We also have special memories of the daily table tennis games and our several barbecue evenings at the house. The surroundings of the house are very spacious and well maintained, which is especially true for the pool. Callas has an ideal location which opens a variety of options for daily tours and trips. Aix-en-Provence, Nice, Saint Tropez, Grasse and Saint-Paul-de-Vence can all be reached within around 1 1/2 hours max. And furthermore, the impressive Gorges du Verdon, certainly a must-see for all nature lovers, are only an hour away from the house. But also the closer neighbourhood of Callas holds several secrets to be discovered too. Our favourite was Thoronet Abbey, a former Cistercian abbey built in the late twelfth and early thirteenth century, now restored as a museum. You should not miss that one! In a nutshell, we would give our time in Callas a 10/10 and we can only recommend to book with Jean-Paul and Myriam.

Erholung pur in Südfrankreich

Sehr schönes und großes Ferienhaus, ideal für die etwas größere Familie. Fußläufig zum hübschen Mittelalterstädtchen Callas. Wer will, ist in in weniger als einer Stunde am Mittelmeer, aber auch im Pool lässt es sich mit großartigem Blick auf die Landschaft vorzüglich entspannen. Vermieter wohnen auch auf dem Grundstück, ist aber kein Problem, sind sehr nett und man ist trotzdem für sich. Wir waren jetzt übrigens zum vierten Mal im Sommer in Callas.

Wunderschönes Callas......

Sehr schön gelegenes Haus mit Pool und wunderschönen Ausblick auf das Dorf Callas. Das kleine aber feine Städchen Callas ist nicht so mit Touristen überlaufen und man kann da wunderbar zu Abend Essen. Auch gibt es einen kleinen Markt wo man das notwendigste bekommt. Vielen Dank nochmal an Jean Paul und seiner Frau Myriam für den wundervollen Empfang. Wie kommen bestimmt nochmal wieder!

Wonderful two week stay in Callas!

We had the most wonderful family holiday in Callas. Jean-Paul & Myriam were super friendly and helpful. The house was lovely and the views are amazing. The location is great for exploring the coast and the Haute Var, Gorge du Verdon etc with everything within an easy 40min - 1hr drive. Very sad indeed to leave!

A pool with a view!

Lovely stay in what really feels like a home, rather than a gite. Beautifully furnished and decorated, with all mod cons, and a stunning view of the town and mountains from the garden and pool. Just a few minutes walk to the bakery and good restaurants. Callas is a friendly town, attractive but not touristy. Lots to do in the local area, we got some some good advice from Jean-Paul and Myriam, who were really welcoming. A fantastic first visit to Provence!

Perfect

What a beautiful place to stay. The house is just what we wanted with everything needed for a comfortable holiday. The pool....wow! What a view, lovely hills to the south and a spectacular view of the village to the west. We went to the coast a couple of times, about 45 minutes drive. Port grimaud (little venice) is fantastic, we took a boat over the bay to St Tropez. We spent another day on the beach at St Agay (near Frejus), which was great, take some shelter with you! The village of Callas is about ten minutes walk away, a lovely walk every morning for baguettes and croissants. There are four restaurants in the village, three of which we used, all were good. Our favourite was La Grotte Italiane. Locally, try the Gorge De Penafort, there's a free car park, go down to the bottom corner, scramble down under the bridge and follow the trail. Well worth it, plenty of pools to swim in. Finally, the hosts, truly lovely people, always available to offer advice and help, while leaving you to get on with your holiday. Going to France next year, but there are too many of us for this house! Will definitely return sooner rather than later. Merci beaucoup Jean-Paul et Myriam

Vue exceptionnelle sur village et vallée !

Nous avons passé trois semaines très agréables dans cette charmante maison. La vue sur la vallée et le village de Callas y est tout simplement magique. Au départ de la maison, il est possible de faire des ballades en vélo à travers les oliviers et les forêts. La piscine qui nous était totalement réservée est grande et très bien ensoleillée au grand bonheur de toute la famille. Le calme est très appréciable. La maison contient tout ce qu’il faut pour passer d’agréables vacances. A 10 minutes à pied, 5 en vélo, le village de Callas a boulangerie, épicerie et restaurants (nous vous recommandons la pizzéria ainsi que Le Moulin des Voisins où nous avons bien diner (réservation nécessaire). Les propriétaires sont discrets et très accueillants. Leur maison est un peu au-dessus de la location. Jean-Paul nous a donné beaucoup d’idées de balades en vélo et restaurants dans la région, en particulier celle de l’ancienne voie de chemin de fer et d’un petit resto dans les Georges du Verdon. Bref, location à recommander ! Un vrai régal !

A wonderful week

We spent a week in this lovely house on the outskirts of Callas with our three children (15, 12 and 9). The views of Callas and the surrounding area are beautiful. The village of Callas was easily reached on foot in 10 minutes or by car in 2 minutes. We visited the boulangerie there every day. There are many picturesque towns nearby that are easily reached by car. We visited Bargemon several times and the drive to nearby Seillans, where we had a wonderful meal in the town square at La Gloire de Mon Pere, was a great adventure. The trip to Gorges to Verdun took us through some beautiful countryside, and the Gorges itself is truly spectacular. We recommend hiring a pedalo to explore inside the gorge. We made great use of the pool, the barbecue and the well-equipped kitchen. The week we stayed was very hot, but the house remained cool. Jean-Paul and Myriam are fantastic hosts, full of helpful suggestions and tips. We appreciated our warm welcome and the comforts of their home. We will definitely return if we are lucky enough to have another holiday in Provence.

Great holiday!

Just returned from 2 weeks in this lovely house where we had a super holiday. The view is fantastic, whether from the house overlooking the wooded hills or from the pool of the pretty village of Callas we never tired of just looking out. The house was very clean and well equipped. Callas itself is small but within an easy 10 minute walk or 2 minute bike ride to get bread on a morning or for a meal out at night. The 4 restaurants are OK but nothing special but were nice enough and convenient. Lots of local tracks and paths for walks and bike rides although it was too hot to venture too seriously into the hills. We really enjoyed the nearby Gorge de Pennefort for refreshing dips into the pools. The house is also very conveniently situated to venture further afield - easy to get to the coast or Gorges du Verdon , local lakes or one of the many local villages. Jean-Paul & Myriam were excellent hosts who were friendly and helpful with local knowledge and tips and were very tolerant and helpful in compensating for our almost non existent French. We would certainly recommend the property. Merci beaucoup Jean-Paul & Myriam!

A Wonderful Visit To Callas

We had a wonderful time at Jean-Paul and Myriam's lovely house in Callas. Their home is very comfortable and the village of Callas is a great place to relax and just enjoy life at a leisurely pace. The area surrounding Callas has spectacular mountains and with Jean-Paul's recommendations we were able to visit a lot of beautiful villages and, of course, the incredible Gorge de Verdun. We also were able to explore the spectacular Mediterranean coast from St. Tropez over to Cannes. We highly recommend this vacation home to anyone wanting to explore this beautiful region of France.

If you want to see Provence, this is your place

If you want the real deal, we can highly recommend this house as your base for visiting Provence. The location is perfect with plenty of attractions within 90 minutes drive - classic hill-top villages (Seillans, Tourrettes, Tourtour, Chateaudouble), wineries, Gorges du Verdon for hiking and the Riviera (St Tropez, Antibes). Add to this, the village of Callas which is a cosy 5 minute walk away with a few local restaurants, a friendly tabac, corner deli and boulangerie - this is genuine France without the hype or tourists. We stayed for three weeks and weren't ready to leave - we loved it ! Jeanpaul was an excellent host - with a warm welcome, good spoken English and plenty of advice on what to do in the area. The house is the old family home with a very relaxed pool area, great patio (with views southwards and to the village centre) and a good living area indoors for the off-season traveller. The bed was a comfortable double (not a given in France) and a reasonable shower / bathroom. Thanks to Jeanpaul and Myriam for a great stay - we will return when we need another fix of our favourite bit of Provence.

Charme et cordialité

Heureux qui comme Jean-Paul a bâti sa maison dans un endroit de rêve Callas, village endormi dans la verdure, comme un grand papillon rose. Einfach wunderbar.......................

Ein wunderbares Haus, ein wunderbarer Garten in einer wunderbaren Gegend......... Wir (zwei Erwachsene, 1 Kind, 8, sowie zwei fast erwachsene Teenager) haben zwei herrliche Wochen im Haus von Myriam und Jean-Paul verbracht. Das Haus ist sehr sehr schön, sehr authenitisch, großzügig und perfekt ausgestattet. Der Garten ist ein Traum, die Fotos versprechen nicht zu viel......die Ausblicke über Landschaft und Dorf sind atemberaubend. Etliche unterschiedliche Sitzplätze laden ein, mit dem Schatten zu wandern und die Perspektive zu wechseln........ Callas als schöner kleiner Ort mit allem, was dazu gehört (Boulangerie, Alimentaire, Cave, Markt, Bar, Café unter Platanen.......) ist wunderbar erholsam, da fernab vom touristischen Trubel- dennoch sind die "Hotspots" der Côte d'Azur über Draguignan schnell zu erreichen. Weil es in Callas aber so schön und entspannend war, haben wir den einen oder anderen Ausflug schlichtweg gestrichen......Am Ende eines solchen Tages ein Ausflug nach Seillans und ein Abendessen am Brunnen im Restaurant "La Gloire de mon Père"........perfekt. Myriam und Jean-Paul, ganz herzlichen Dank! Es war wunderbar bei Euch- wir kommen sicherlich wieder!

Cadre exceptionnel

Superbe villa où il fait bon vivre, idéale pour des vacances en famille au coeur d'une nature verdoyante et de villages authentiques, restés à taille humaine, loin des foules et de l'agitation de la côte d'Azur. Jean-Paul et Myriam vous accueillent chaleureusement et restent discrètement à votre disposition pour faire de votre séjour un moment inoubliable. Tout est fait pour s'y sentir bien (piscine telle qu'on la rêve, barbecue, table de ping-pong, piano, bibliothèque, excellente connexion WIFI, etc.). De nombreux endroits vous permettent de profiter du soleil ou de l'ombre, selon vos envies. Chacun de ces endroits vous offrent des vues panoramiques magnifiques sur les collines environnantes et sur le magnifique village de Callas. Situation idéale entre la côte et les gorges du Verdon. De nombreuses balades et randonnées s'offrent à vous. Véritable paradis pour les joggeurs et cyclistes. C'est bien simple, on y retourne dès que possible !

SEJOUR AU CALME

Avons passé deux semaines de vacances au soleil avec une superbe vue sur le village de Callas dans un quartier calme. La maison est située plein soleil, mais nous avons pu manger à l'ombre d'un murier d'où la vue était magnifique sur le village. La maison est fonctionnelle pour 7 personnes. Myriam et Jean-Paul sont très accueillants et restent très discrets tout en étant disponibles. Nous garderons un très bon souvenir de nos deux soirées apéro passées ensembles. La piscine est très agréable et l'ombre des lauriers et du pool-house permet d'en profiter toute la journée. Le village est pittoresque, et la balade pour chercher le pain chaque matin, ainsi que le marché du samedi matin, sont un plus. Pour visiter les environs il ne faut toutefois pas avoir peur des petites routes sinueuses. A recommander vivement.

Toller Urlaub in toller Umgebung

Ein schönes Haus in wunderschöner Umgebung, der Pool hat eine tolle Lage mit einmaliger Fernsicht. Die Vermieter wohnen in unmittelbarer Nähe, sind immer da wenn man sie braucht, ohne sich aufzudrängen. Das Haus hat alles was man braucht und man kann die Seele baumeln lassen. Sehr zu empfehlen wenn man dem Trubel ein wenig entkommen will. Man muss ein bisschen Fahrzeit kalkulieren wenn man die typischen Ziele in der Gegend anschauen will, freut sich aber immerhin wieder in diese Oase zurückzukommen. Merck beaucoup Jean-Paul et Myriam

Traumhaus-Traumlage und sehr nette Vermieter

Ein Geheimtipp! Wir haben unsere 2 wunderbaren Flitterwochen (!) in diesem traumhaft schönen Anwesen verbracht. Die Fotos und alle online-Angaben entsprechen wirklich der Realität. Das Haus und die Umgebung sind tatsächlich so - wie beschrieben. Weiter freier Blick in die Natur, schöne Vegetation und Ruhe. Man ist komplett ungestört und für sich. Klasse, gepflegter Pool mit Traumblick. Auch die höher gelegene Hausterrasse bietet ebenso diese herrliche Aussicht. Wir haben dort unser Brunch und Dinner genossen. Zudem waren wir begeistert von den vielen Sitzgelegenheiten sowie einer eigenen Lounge mit Palme und großem modernen BBQ-Grill, von dem wir gerne Gebrauch machten. Das hübsche provencialische Haus ist stilvoll und auch innen sehr gepflegt. Alles ist sauber, Liebe zum Detail. Die moderne Waschmaschine funktioniert ebenso zuverlässig, wie die modernen Elektrogeräte in der Küche, alles top- Marken (Siemens) - Herd,Backofen sowie Spülmaschine. Die Vermieter Jean-Paul und Myriam sind sehr freundlich und charmant und jederzeit hilfsbereit. Sie geben Tipps und lassen einen aber auch in Ruhe und respektieren es, dass man seine Privatsphäre genießen will. Und wer mag, kann sich auch mit der kleinen schwarzen Katze anfreunden, die -ganz höflich- nur vorbeikommt, wenn sie auch erwünscht ist. Die Umgebung ist idyllisch und man kann gemütlich in ca. 10-15 Minuten zu Fuß zum kleinen Örtchen zum nächsten Bäcker oder Supermarkt laufen. Im nächsten Nachbarort sind auch nette Restaurants. Innerhalb eines Tagesausfluges konnten wir von der Entfernung gut ans Meer fahren und dort unseren Tag verbringen (San Tropez und Umgebung oder Cassis). Oder man besichtigt die berühmten Lavendelfelder im Landesinneren (Achtung, ab Anfang August aber schon verblüht). Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt, empfehlen es absolut weiter und kommen gerne wieder.

Complete woning, aangenaam dicht bij uitermate gezellig en typisch provencaals dorp Callas, maar tegelijk ook rustig met 100% privacy; uitzonderlijke mooie vergezichten vanaf de woning, zowel op landschap als op dorp, kwalitatieve binneninrichting met leuke details zoals mooie muziek en filmscollectie, rond de woning is er op elk moment van de dag wel een terras of zithoek te vinden om aangenaam te verpozen in de zon of schaduw; kortom een aanrader en 1 week verblijf is veel tekort om ten volle tegenieten van de woing en omgeving, ...

Hatten das Haus im Juni für 2 Wochen angemietet und waren rundum zufrieden. Das Objekt sowie der gesamte Aufenthalt entsprach in jeder Hinsicht unseren Erwartungen. Heerlijk huis met zwemba...

Heerlijk huis met zwembad, van alle gemakken voorzien en prachtig gelegen! We hebben hier een heerlijke week gehad met ons zoontje en hadden graag langer willen blijven! Mooie omgeving, Gorge du Verdon vlakbij en ook kust gemakkelijk te bereiken. Eigenaren zijn ontzettend aardig, verblijven ook op hetzelfde, grote terrein, en geven je totale privacy. Wij komen graag terug! Jolie et grande maison et piscine dans un endroit avec une vue vraiment superbe! Nous avons passé une sémaine très agréable et espérons de pouvoir retourner.Les proprietaires sont hyper gentils. Gorge du Verdon et la mer sont pas loin et facile pour y aller.

Séjour extraordinaire

Séjour extraordinaire dans un cadre exceptionnel. La région a su garder son cachet traditionnel - rien à voir avec la côte d''azur. Le logement est parfait et la vue imprenable sur le village et les montagnes environnantes. Quant aux propriétaires ! des personnes charmantes qui vous font partager le goût de leur région. Encore mille mercis pour votre charmant accueil.

Traumhaftes Haus und sehr freundliche Vermieter

Wir, 2 Erwachsene, 3 Kinder, haben 3 wundervolle Ferienwochen in dem Haus verbracht. Das Haus ist sehr sauber und bestens ausgestattet, die Lage könnte nicht schöner sein. Die Vermieter sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit, aber nicht aufdringlich. Bilder und Beschreibung entsprechen absulut der Realität. Gerne kommen wir wieder! Vera & Klaus

Excellent séjour...

"Nous avons passés un excellent séjour à CALLAS, dans cette charmante maison bleue où les propriétaires nous ont réservés un accueil très chaleureux. La location est spacieuse, fonctionnelle, bien aménagée et nous nous y sommes tout de suite sentis bien. A l'extérieur il y a plein de petits espaces où nous avons pu partager des moments de convivialité en famille. La piscine offre une vue panoramique imprenable ainsi qu'une belle superficie (je vous recommande le pool house). Nous avons tous été enchantés de notre séjour."

La Maison Bleue ist ein ...

"la Maison Bleue ist ein tolles Haus in großartiger Landschaft. Drinnen und draußen bestens eingerichtet und ausgestattet, mit zahlreiche Sitzecken und großzügigem Pool, wunderbarer Blick auf das Dorf, das ca. 10 Minuten zu Fuß entfernt ist, und auf die Berge. Das Haus hat 2 Schlafzimmer mit Doppelbett, ein Zimmer für 3 (Etagenbett und Einzelbett) und ein weiteres Zimmer, in dem noch eine Schlafcouch für 2 steht. Es gibt zwei Toiletten (ohne Waschbecken), ein Badezimmer mit Wanne und eine Waschküche mit Waschmaschine. Die Küche ist bestens ausgestattet, das Wohnzimmer ebenfalls (off. Kamin, Wifi, Sat-TV). Für uns 2 Paare (mit nur kurzem Besuch von unseren Kindern) war es ideal. Wir waren gerne in Callas!"

Un havre de paix dans un cadre merveilleux !!

Nous avons été accueillis par des propriétaires adorables !! La maison est nichée juste en face du très mignon village de Callas et à peine arrivés on pouvait déjà apprécier le calme et la vue incroyable à des kilomètres, jusqu'à la mer lorsque le ciel est pur ! La maison est toute proprette et équipée comme il se doit pour passer des vacances sans souci. La piscine est logée à quelques marches d'escalier de la maison, super bien protégée des vents éventuels grâce à une très pratique "pool house". Il y a plusieurs endroits pour manger en fonction des heures de la journée et du temps et on a particulièrement apprécié le petit salon extérieur où il était très agréable de se relaxer au soleil de fin de journée. Le matin, on pouvait aller chercher du bon pain frais à 10 minutes à pied. Une semaine de détachement parfait où on oublie l'année écoulée en un rien de temps et d'où on n'a guère envie de partir... A l'année prochaine certainement !!

Location très agréable

"Location très agréable conforme au descriptif sur le site : vue imprenable, calme, multitude de petits coins aménagés pour un repas à l''ombre ou au soleil, pour la sieste, l'apéro... L'extérieur de la location est vraiment le "must" ! Piscine de bonne dimension même pour les vrais nageurs. Literie neuve de bonne qualité. Accueil agréable des propriétaires qui se sont faits très discrets pendant notre séjour et ont répondu à toutes nos demandes."
